Kungla is a name drawn from Estonia’s cultural memory — the mythical land of golden times, where harmony, song and quiet confidence were said to fill the air. In that old tale, the people of Kungla sat together in peace, and Vanemuine’s kannel sent its music into the forest, the fields and the sea, until every living thing joined the song.

Our workshop stands on Kungla Street in Tartu, just steps away from the Vanemuine Theatre, where these conductor’s podiums and stands were first developed. The name reflects exactly what the product is meant to offer: calm strength, reliability and a silent foundation that supports the music without drawing attention.
